CRADOCK NEWS - A suspect was arrested in connection with a fuel theft incident on Saturday 17 February along the N10 highway outside Cookhouse. The swift action of the Cradock K9 unit, in collaboration with Navic and CDK Security, led to the apprehension of the individual.
The operation was launched following intelligence received regarding a white Ford Ranger suspected of fuel theft from a petrol station in Cradock. Prompted by the garage manager's alert, a pursuit was initiated by the Cradock K9 unit and CDK Security.
During the chase it was discovered that the vehicle's number plates were falsified, further raising suspicions. The 47-year-old suspect eventually admitted to his wrongdoing and settled the fuel payment.
However, law enforcement proceeded with the arrest, and the vehicle was confiscated. The suspect is slated to make an appearance in the Cookhouse Magistrate's Court as the investigation continues.
