SPORT NEWS - The Four Nations Tournament by Galaxy FC was played on Sunday 23 July at the Kroonvale football field.
The games between Birds United and Morocco Eagles and Young Lions against Galaxy FC, were organised to get the players match ready as the football season starts now.
The first round was between Birds United and Morocco Eagles. Each game was 40 minutes with only the finals given full-time. In the first half Birds United scored first with a goal by Terelton Matthews followed by a goal by Peter Bok of the Eagles. After ending in a 2-2 draw, Birds won the penalty shootout 5 - 4.
Galaxy then beat the Lions 5 - 4.
The final between Birds and Galaxy kept spectators on their toes. Birds scored first and although Galaxy did their utmost to score, Birds soared away with the prize pool of R800 after winning 3 - 0.
