GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A reminder to all in Graaff-Reinet and the surrounding towns that St James Church in Somerset Street will be holding their annual Flower Festival this Friday, 19 October.
The pupils from the Union Pre-Primary will be placing lots of little bottles with flowers in the foyer, and the church will be filled with baskets of fresh produce, as well as flowers.
This is in keeping with the Harvest Festival service which will take place in the church on Sunday, 21 October at 08:00. Organ music to soothe the soul will also be played throughout the morning.
As usual, there will be tea and scones in the church garden in the morning, and a delicious lunch available from 12 noon in the same venue.
Anyone is welcome to contribute a basket arrangement of assorted flowers, fruit, vegetables, bread, or any other produce - or indeed a true "mixed basket" of all of the above! Arrangements should be dropped off at the church from 08:00 on Thursday, where there will be people to receive them and place them to the best advantage. Any inquiries should be directed to Pat Wallis 082 976 0496, Moyra Marais 084 050 9448 or Val Loock 049 891 0585.
