GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The first official interschool matches between Union and Volkskool were played on Monday at Volkskool.
It started with the annual chess challenge.
The learners were all given one hour to play, with the last game ending with a couple of minutes to spare.
At the end of the evening, the junior section was won by Laer Volkskool 23 - 13, with Union High School, under the leadership of captain Karl Venter, winning the senior section 14 - 2. Union won the event overall with 27 - 25.
