ABERDEEN NEWS - A farm worker of the Krom River in the Aberdeen district died after he was struck by lightning late yesterday afternoon (4 February).
The name of the deceased cannot be released, as his family members have not yet been informed.
According to Captain Bradley Rawlinson, Graaff-Reinet SAPS spokesperson, it is alleged that the deceased and fellow workers were repairing fencing on a farm at around 5.30pm, when he was struck by lightning.
After the man collapsed, fellow workers contacted Aberdeen SAPS and emergency services. On arrival of emergency services, the man was certified dead.
The Aberdeen SAPS are investigating an inquest docket.
