GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A new exhibition at Imibala Gallery in Graaff-Reinet, Biome of Beauty, has been postponed as a Covid-19 precautionary measure.
The exhibition, which will showcase the work of several top South African botanical artists, was to open on Friday 20 November.
One of the artists includes Sally Arnold, a Union High learner from 1967 to 1969. Arnold arrived in Graaff-Reinet with her artwork earlier this week.
She has been working as an artist in Europe for 30 years, and enjoyed returning to her roots, as well as the familiarity of Graaff-Reinet.
According to Ros Goodson of the gallery, most of the artists exhibiting have received international awards for their work. One of Arnold's paintings hangs in the home of the Duchess of Luxembourg.
"The exhibition has been postponed for now," said Goodson. "Further details will be communicated."
