SOMERSET EAST NEWS - During the early hours of Sunday 20 February, Cookhouse Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) received information about a suspected drug dealer on his way to East London to collect drugs destined for Cradock.
Members of Cookhouse CPU followed up on the information with the assistance of off-duty members of Cradock Police.
The vehicle was spotted, and the driver attempted to make a U-turn on the R61 back towards Tarkastad but was blocked by police patrol vehicles.
They searched the vehicle and found 1 005 Mandrax tablets and 450 grams of tik in the children's bags.
Both adults were arrested for dealing in tik and Mandrax.
The estimated street value of the drugs is R420 150.
