LATEST KAROO CRIME NEWS - Negligent allowing and/or failure to prevent an animal to cause injury
A woman stated that on 22 June at 14:15 she was walking in Asherville, when a dog that wasn't under control attacked her. She suffered injuries.
Attempted robbery
On 28 June at about 11.30pm a house owner heard something in the house. He alerted the neighbour and they found the suspect stuck in the chimney.
Common robbery
The complainant alleges that she was robbed of her cellphone by a suspect while she was walking in Asherville on 30 June at 11pm.
Assault with grievous bodily harm
• A woman reported that on 27 June shortly before midnight she and a friend were walking on Kenneth Maneli Avenue in Aberdeen. She alleged that the friend and others started assaulting her for no reason.
• On 22 June a woman alleged that she was assaulted by her brother while talking to her niece on Aster Street.
• The complainant alleged that she was joking with the suspect in Kroonvale when he stabbed her with a knife on 26 June.
Theft out of a motor vehicle
• The complainant alleged that she parked her vehicle in front of Reinet Park on 25 June at noon. When she returned the next morning, the bonnet was open and electrical equipment stolen.
• In Asherville a complainant reports that on 28 June he sent a co-worker to lock his vehicle. The worker found that items were stolen from the boot.
• On 30 June at approximately 11:00, two pairs of shoes and a cellphone were stolen from a vehicle parked on Church Street.
Theft
• On Neser Street on 28 June shortly before 15:00, the complainant found that the roof of the Scout Hall was stolen.
• Two cyclists on 24 June at midday went for a ride on Mountain Drive. They walked into the field and on returning their bicycles were stolen.
Burglary
• The complainant alleged that she on 27 June at around 19:00 departed from her workplace on Bree Street. On returning the Saturday, she found a window forced open. A computer and other electrical equipment were stolen.
• Electrical equipment and a bicycle were stolen from a house on Stockenstroom Street on 27 June at about 19:00.
• A gymnasium bicycle and several garden tools were stolen from the garage of a house on Akasia Street between 26 and 27 June.
• Between 28 and 30 June a window of the Alex Laing Hall was forced open and a computer monitor, as well as several other items of value were stolen.
Malicious damage to property
According to the complainant he was on his way home, driving on Park Street, when he saw a man carrying a stone and damaged his bakkie's back window.
Reckless and negligent driving
It is alleged that vehicle which was driving on the wrong side of the road collided with another vehicle, causing damage and injury to a female passenger in Geluksdal on 28 June at about 19:00.
Fraud
A man living on Middle Street stated that he on 1 July telephonically ordered goods to the value of R12 750. He never received the goods.
