Graaff-Reinet
Burglary
• A guest at a guest house alleged that R200 was taken from his wallet while he was asleep the evening of 26 January. A kitchen window was forced open.
• On 28 January at 5.45am, a suspect gained entry through a side window at a Umasizakhe residence and stole a television, food and baby food.
• Burglars allegedly stole meat, sweets, cooldrinks and chips at a business on 23 January.
• A hairdryer, microwave and cellphone were stolen on 20 January from a local residence. The suspects entered by forcing the locked wooden door open.
• Tools and machinery were stolen from a business between 20 and 21 January. The suspects gained entry by forcing a hole in a wall.
• A cellphone, tekkies and food were stolen from a Kroonvale residence between 18 and 19 January.
• Clothing and groceries were stolen from a Umasizakhe home on 19 January.
• Burglars forced a burglar door open at a local residence and stole a television and two cellphones.
• The night of 28 and 29 January, burglars gained entry to a furniture shop on Market Square by forcing the back door open. They stole five HiFi's.
Fraud
On 28 January, three suspects approached a woman on Caledon Street and told her she won a substantial amount of airtime. They got away with R4 000.
Common assault
A woman was attacked on 28 January at 9pm. The suspect, who is known to her, hit her in the face and lower back.
Theft out of a motor vehicle
A battery was stolen from a vehicle in Asherville during the early hours of 21 January.
Malicious damage to property
In Bergendal, a vehicle was damaged when three unknown men threw stones at it on 25 January at 6.25pm.
Aberdeen
Burglary
A farmhouse was broken into between 1 and 22 January. An amplifier was stolen.
Assault with grievous bodily harm
In Lotusville, on 25 January at 5pm, a man was assaulted by two men. They started hitting him in the face and then kicked him while he was on the ground.
Theft
Copper wire was stolen on Voortrekker Road at a business on 27 January.
Dealing with drugs
The Aberdeen Police executed a search warrant in Thembalesizwe, where they found dagga and a substantial amount of cash.
Malicious damage to property
Between 1 and 24 January, tombstones at the Van Heerden Street cemetery were damaged.
