HOFMEYR NEWS - The small community of Hofmeyr and its surrounding communities are currently being seriously impacted by the raging Covid-19 virus. Both local clinics, Eluxolweni Clinic and Hofmeyr Clinic, are closed due to staff who tested positive for the virus.
The community has once again been warned to please wear their masks, stay out of circulation and in isolation whilst waiting for test results, as well as when sick.
Many of the people who have tested positive live in houses with many other people and all had to be tested, and are currently awaiting results.
The local schools carry on as normal and children have to attend school wearing masks.
The smallest crèche in the area, Kabouterland, was visited by Social Development last week, and the 40 preschoolers who attend the school were equipped with two masks each.
This crèche, that is situated in an RDP house, has no working toilets and no water available for the 40 children and four staff members.
