GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The Midland Mixed Pairs competition took place on the greens of the Somerset East Bowling Club on the weekend of 24 and 25 February.
The 20 teams (40 bowlers) that competed for the title were divided into four sections, with five teams per section playing against each other on a round-robin basis.
The section winners were as follows:
- Section 1 - Deon Deetlefs and Louisa van Staden (Somerset East)
- Section 2 - Tienie and Mirie Prinsloo (Cradock)
- Section 3 - Deon and Sonia Matthee (Graaff-Reinet)
- Section 4 - Wally Koetaan and Riana du Toit (Graaff-Reinet)
The final was contested between the Deetlefs/Van Staden duo and the Matthee couple.
At the end of the day the Matthee couple were victorious and will take part in the EP Mixed Pairs Final at the Woods Bowling Club on the weekend of 16 and 17 March.
