GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - There has been a great response already to the call for photos for the 2017 Graaff-Reinet calendar, and publisher Nicola Beldon of Country Mouse has been very impressed with the standard of the entries received to date.
There are many beautiful sunsets and farm scenes, and the judges are going to have a difficult time choosing the winning photos.
As one of the main attractions of Graaff-Reinet is its distinctive architecture, the judges are hoping that there will be more entries showcasing this.
"We are looking forward to another excellent calendar this year, reflecting the beauty, people, and architecture, each telling its own individual unique story of our town and surrounding areas," said Beldon.
There is still time to submit photos, as the deadline date is September 30.
The competition is open to all amateur photographers, regardless of age.
Unfortunately, for quality purposes, no printed photographs can be accepted. Entries should be emailed to countrymousedesign@gmail.com, and image files must be between 1MB & 3MB (72 dpi to 300 dpi).

Each entry should include the photographer's full name, age, and contact details, as well as the location of the photograph.
Some of the outstanding entries received so far include a sunset scene taken by Morné van Jaarsveld 20km South of Graaff-Reinet, with the mountains of the Camdeboo Conservancy in the background, aloes in the veld at Bergendal by Hendrina Meyer, a close-up of the Graaff-Reinet railway station gable by Gawie Basson, and a still day at Nqweba Dam taken by Micaela Brown.
