GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A community variety concert will take place next week in Graaff-Reinet.
The concert, entitled ‘Stars of the Karoo’, will take place at the John Rupert Theatre in Parsonage Street on the evenings of 23 and 24 May and will be showcasing all the fantastic talent in the area.
The line-up includes items of drama, song and dance, which will be performed by the many young people associated with the Union High School and Volkskool drama departments, Chinelle’s School of Dance and the Ilse Burger Music School.
Local Showville contestants and a variety of very talented vocalists will also keep the audience entertained.
According to the show’s producer, Chinelle Marais, who is being aptly assisted by Wilmari Spence and Anziske Kayster, this concert is very much a community event for all the people of the area.
Tickets to the show, which starts at 18:00, costs R80 for adults and R50 for children.
Doors open at 17:30.
Beverages and delicious eats such as curry bunnies, soup and vetkoek, will be for sale before the show and during the interval.
