GRAAFF-REINEY NEWS — Along with many in the community, Bruce Kock, a well-known resident of Graaff-Reinet, is very concerned about the increasing incidence of violent crimes in the town and its suburbs.
Unlike many others, he is prepared to take some action to try to improve the situation and to combat what is seen as a decline in moral standards. He would like to launch a project under the title of “Maak Skoon die Juweel”. “We need to restore the morality of our Jewel of the Karoo –a physical and moral clean-up of the town is needed” he explained.
Kock has arranged a prayer session next Wednesday, February 7, in Koebergville, hosted by kind permission of the Full Gospel Church. The meeting will start at 18:30, at the church in Narsing Street.
He feels strongly that this must be a project for all communities, and invites church ministers, councillors and other community leaders to encourage their supporters to attend the meeting. There will be safe parking for cars, with trusted security personnel.
A request from Kock is for a transport company that would be willing to help get people home after the meeting, as there is a fear for the safety of those who may have to walk long distances home after dark.
Anyone who can help in this regard is asked to contact him on 0622183114.
