KAROO NEWS - Two small towns are currently cut off from the rest of the world due to vandalised cell phone towers.
MTN towers in Hofmeyr and Molteno were vandalised and the solar panels, copper wiring, electrical wiring, control boxes and batteries stolen.
The Hofmeyr tower was vandalised two weeks ago, with the result that the town has no cell phone reception. Locals could not send or receive Christmas messages to friends and families.
Molteno woke up to the exact same situation yesterday morning and the photo was released by the MTN technician who attended to a complaint yesterday morning.
