GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Graaff-Reinetter Enoch Ansah was recently nominated in the Young Hip Hop Artist of the Year category in the City Awards' 2021 031 (Durban) Awards.
Enoch, who records his songs under the stage name Icyyung, grew up in Graaff-Reinet, matriculating from the Union High School.
With an ingrained passion for music, Enoch started rapping when he was just 14 years old, releasing his first song at 17.
He now boasts over 60 original songs, including one full album.
His main genre is hip hop and its sub-genre trap, but he also records indie pop. City Awards is South Africa's largest chain of award shows, celebrating the achievements of individuals in the entertainment industry.
Winners are determined by a combination of public votes and judges' scores.
