GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - According to the Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality, the electricity supply to the Asherville residential area in Graaff-Reinet is under severe constraint, as a result of an incident of cable theft at the Santa sub-station.
Electricians have, as a result, connected the affected areas to the Kroonvale electrical network.
Consumers from Kroonvale, Asherville, Geluksdal and Mandela Park must note that power outages may take place due to overloading of the network.
According to the municipality special equipment is required for repairs and replacements at the Santa sub-station, and can only be procured from out of town suppliers.
Residents will be informed when the repair work will start.
