GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Union Preparatory School's annual "Wild Karoo" fundraising initiative kicks off with an online auction which will run from this Friday, 7 September at 12:00 to Friday, 14 September, at 21:00.
The 85 auction lots can be viewed live on the bidding website, www.wildkaroo.co.za.
Lots will be sold to leading online bidders at the close of auction.
The Wild Karoo initiative will culminate with a glamorous formal gala cocktail function on the evening of Friday, 14 September. This event will include a secondary live auction, an art exhibition, a smorgasbord of delicious food, an open bar, dancing and more. Wi-fi will be available to allow guests to continue with online auction bidding. Tickets for this not-to-be-missed event can be purchased from Union Preparatory School or e-mail admin@wildkaroo.co.za.
The online auction can be found at www.wildkaroo.co.za and the developers have ensured that the site is easy to use, and the entire auction process from registration through to auction closing takes place online.
Those who have never participated in an online auction are encouraged to support the school and give it a try.
How to register:
1. Visit www.wildkaroo.co.za Click "Register" at the top of the homepage
2. Complete simple online form
3. A confirmation will be sent to you
How to bid:
1. Go to www.wildkaroo.co.za
Enter your registered username and password in fields provided at the top of the page. Click "Sign in".
2. Browse to the lot(s) that you would like to bid on. In the bidding pane on right side of the page, click the green "Place bid now!" button.
3. Enter your bid amount (or leave as default, which will be the last bid placed plus bid increment) and select option to select notification if another bidder raises on your bid. Click the green "Place bid" button.
4. Confirm the bid details on the next page, and click the orange "Confirm Bid" button. Your bid will be placed and will reflect in the bidding pane on the right side of the lot viewing page
5. Track auction bids: email notifications will indicate counter bids and if your bid is in the lead
6. Won the bid? Confirmation by email notification
How payment works:
1. Lot winners will be e-mailed an invoice from the school. Payment can be transferred electronically into the bank details provided. The invoice number should be used for reference.
2. On receipt of payment, an e-mail will be sent with details on how the package can be claimed.
The offering includes 85 exciting auction lots, and there is something for everyone.
This offering includes (but is not limited to): accommodation packages which vary from luxury retreats to self-catered getaways; top-class trophy safari packages; biltong hunting packages; original artworks; adventure activities; dining experiences; wines and variety of awesome products and services.
