GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Barbara Vaaltyn, principal of Lettie de Klerk Primary in Nieu-Bethesda, was invited by the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, and the South African Council for Educators, to participate in a two-day National Teachers' Conference in Boksburg in Gauteng on Thursday and Friday, 20 and 21 April.
This follows her award as the best in the province in the category, "Excellence in Primary School Leadership" in the National Teachers' Awards last year.
A delegation of about 700 educators and education department top brass from different provinces attended the conference, with Vaaltyn the only representative from the Camdeboo. Last year's award winners were congratulated by Motshekga and received their award certificates.
