KAROO NEWS - The communities of Hofmeyr and Cradock had a three-day training session from 13 to 15 February at the Victoria Manor in Cradock.
Training in asset-based community-led development was presented by Bernie Dolley, managing director of Ikhala Trust.
A total of 26 representatives from several NPOs in Cradock, as well as eight representatives from Hofmeyr Hugs of Hope, were taught to develop their communities strategically into a force where assets are identified and developed to make a profit.
After the certificate ceremony, the attendants left the venue with hope for their future. Not only could each one pinpoint their dreams, but they could also draw up a business plan to present to all who attended.
