GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Exciting news for art and nature lovers is that world-famed wildlife and landscape artist, David Langmead, will be one of the visiting artists who will exhibit their works at the Imibala Gallery in Graaff-Reinet.
The exhibition, 'Coming Home' the return of the Cape Vulture to the Karoo - opens on Friday 21 May at 18:00. The guest speaker is dr Gareth Tate, who heads up the Birds of Prey programme at the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT).
The exhibition is a collaboration of Imibala Gallery and the Karoo Vulture Safe Zone Project. This project is a powerful and positive initiative formed together with farmers, private landowners, the Endangered Wildlife Trust, SANParks and private stakeholders.
Langmead, born in Zimbabwe, holds a bachelors degree in fine arts from the University of Natal. He lives in the Karoo in Nieu Bethesda for the last 22 years. He primarily supplies the US market through Call of Africa Galleries in Florida.
Other artists who will also exhibit are Johanneke Strydom from Molteno, Ducan Stewart, Jan Raats, Peter Midlane and Martin Haines.
Dr Gareth Tate, who heads up the Birds of Prey programme at the Endangered Wildlife Trust, will open the art exhibition.
