ABERDEEN NEWS — Another suspect has now been arrested for attempted murder in connection with the attack on Aberdeen farmer Hannes Gouws earlier this year.
Gouws was shot in the face at point-blank range on March 31 during an attempted robbery at the farm Makateesplaas, on the outskirts of Aberdeen.
The 36-year-old man was arrested in the George area on October 18, two weeks after two other suspects were arrested in the same area.
According to information given to the Advertiser by members of the local farming community, the suspect arrested for conspiracy to commit a crime was a driver for Gouws, and he continued to work for him until the time he was arrested.
The case of the third suspect has been postponed until November 8 for a formal bail application.
