GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The Parish of St James Church, Graaff-Reinet, will host an Armistice Sunday memorial service on 8 November at 17:00, in the gardens of the Graaff-Reinet Club on 3 Church Street.
The service will be conducted by Rev Dr Mark Marais.
Armistice Day, also known as Remembrance Day or sometimes Poppy Day, is commemorated every year on 11 November.
This marks the day in 1918 when the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare during the First World War.
Remembrance Sunday is the second Sunday in November, the Sunday nearest to November.
Please note that face masks are compulsory at the Sunday’s event, and hand sanitisers will be available.
Parking is available at the rear of the building.
