GRAAFF-REINET NEWS – The Eastcape Midlands TVET College (EMC) in Graaff-Reinet will be hosting their diploma and certificate ceremony on Wednesday, August 30, in the Graaff-Reinet Town Hall.
This will feature a number of students obtaining their academic qualifications for the following years 2014, 2015 and 2016.
With eight of the campuses being in the surrounding areas, Uitenhage hosted the southerly division of the Ceremony, while Graaff-Reinet and Grahamstown will host their own ceremonies for the first time in the history of the College.
Diplomas and certificates will be awarded in the Colleges’ Schools of Business, Art and Social Sciences, Engineering and Occupational Training.
The ceremony will see the College’s new principal, Charl van Heerden, presenting the diplomas and certificates to the students.
Three of the most meritorious awards handed over at the ceremony included The Principal’s Award and the National Top Achievers Award.
The Principal’s Award is awarded to only one student of each school, who has obtained an average of 75% throughout their studies, and has been an exemplary student, abiding to the College’s Code of Conduct.
This year, EMC is proud to award one student of the Graaff-Reinet campus with this award.
The National Top Achievers Award is awarded to students who have, per internal criteria and per subject, achieved 75% or higher, thus placing them in the top ten in the country.
For the years 2014, 2015 and 2016, EMC will award 23 students from the Graaff-Reinet campus with this award at Wednesday’s ceremony.
