GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — Young Bella Human of Graaff-Reinet is Huigenoot magazine's new Heidi!
After a nationwide competition last month which received thousands of entries, Bella was chosen as the magazine’s Heidi look-alike.
Her mother, Tammy Morris, was initially reluctant to enter her daughter in the competition but was persuaded by her own mother. “People from Graaff-Reinet don’t normally win national competitions,” said Tammy laughingly.
Nobody was more thrilled than Tammy and her family when she was proved wrong!
Bella herself is also very excited at her sudden fame, and can’t wait to receive the hamper of Heidi products that form part of her prize. The main prize is a family trip to the Little Switzerland resort in the KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg, where the family will stay in a self-catering chalet for four nights. Included in the package are quad bike excursions and horse riding, which will keep Bella and her 5-year-old twin brothers busy.
The winning photograph was one taken on a family photo shoot earlier this year, where local photographer Jac Grobbelaar captured many magic moments- but none so rewarding as this one of Bella!
The competition to find Heidi’s double was launched by the magazine to celebrate the release of the new movie version of the children’s classic story Heidi, which is set in the Swiss Alps.
