GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — Get your tickets now and book your place at the upcoming Camdeboo Birding Weekend charity dinner.
The dinner - to be held at the Drostdy Hotel on Saturday evening, March 18, during the eighth annual Camdeboo Birding Weekend in Graaff-Reinet - seeks to raise funds for a birding inter-schools weekend for local youths, to be hosted by the SANParks Honourary Rangers later this year.
The second annual birding inter-schools weekend will take place at the Camdeboo National Park’s education centre situated just outside of Graaff-Reinet in October of this year.
Children from local schools will be participating and will each enjoy a weekend of exciting birding hikes and outdoor activities.
The organisers’ vision is to enrich aspiring nature lovers, young and old, and for everyone to come and enjoy a fun-filled educational weekend.
By purchasing a ticket for Saturday's charity dinner, those attending will ensure that local youths who have never been able to attend and enjoy such a weekend, will be able to do so.
Tickets are available at R500 per person - non-birders and birders alike. Local organisations and companies are also encouraged to show their support by purchasing a table for R3 000.
Inquiries and bookings can be made through the park’s Senior People and Conservation Officer, Rosemary Scheepers, via Rosemary.Scheepers@sanparks.org or 049 892 3453.
