ABERDEEN NEWS — A new sight around Aberdeen which is intriguing visitors and locals alike is a sprightly pony pulling a brand new shiny trap.
Milly, the pony, had been in the care of the local animal welfare organisation after being confiscated due to neglect. Initially in very poor condition, Milly has responded to some love and food (not to mention vaccinations!) and is now thriving.
She has been adopted by local animal lover David Millar, who managed to obtain some scarce lucern from local farmers to build her up. He was often seen walking the pony around town, and it was debatable
which one of the two benefitted the most from the exercise!
Now Milly has a tailor-made cart, built by local craftsman Derick van Rensburg in less than a week. Millar is thrilled with the cart, which is beautifully balanced, and it causes no strain at all for Milly. According
to Millar’s daughter Joy, who responded to a photo of the pair on Facebook, this really is a dream come true for him.
