COOKHOUSE NEWS - Cookhouse police had a busy Easter weekend after eight suspects were arrested during unrelated incidents over the weekend.
On Friday 2 April at approximately 20:00 a man (36) was arrested at a house in Bongweni after various drugs were found in his possession.
According to police spokesperson, Capt Bradley Rawlinson, 27 bompies dagga, one Madrax tablet, three sachets tik and four straws containing tik and cash was found in his possession.

The following day, Saturday 3 April the Cookhouse crime prevention unit and Cookhouse Route Patrol conducted foot patrols in Tyoksville where a 20-year old suspect was arrested with three sachets of tik and an undisclosed amount of cash in his possession.
On Sunday at approximately 22:30 Cookhouse Crime Prevention and Route patrol members conducted a search and seizure operation at a residence in Qppollis Street, where five men between the ages of 18 and 28 were found in possession of nine straws of tik.
One person (21) was also arrested for the possession of tik during a search and seizure operation in Jansen Street on Monday 5 April at approximately 03:30.
All eight suspects were arrested and are due to appear in court later today.
