GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The furry friends at the Graaff-Reinet SPCA have a yummy supply of food, after Pets Preference donated 300 kg of meaty treats to the organisation on 1 April — and it was not April Fools’ joke!
“MP Samantha Graham-Maré recently made a request for SPCA donations during the lockdown period – this plea reached the Pets Preference team, who believe that this is a very worthy cause,” said Trudi Bezuidenhout on behalf of the Pet Preference team.
“The SPCA is responsible for protecting and caring for abandoned animals, preventing cruelty to animals and spreading awareness of animal care. In many rural communities where people do not have access to animal clinics, there is a problem of over-population of pets, stray animals, abuse and disease,” Bezuidenhout added.
We’re sure the local SPCA residents can’t wait for their next mealtime.
