GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Swift response by the Graaff-Reinet K9 unit led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of a white VW Polo that was stolen in Queenstown on Tuesday 13 April.
According to local police spokesperson, Capt Bradley Rawlinson, they reacted to a tip-off that the vehicle was heading in the direction of Graaff-Reinet.
"The dog unit started searching for the vehicle in Graaff-Reinet and their patience and determination were rewarded when they spotted the vehicle and its passengers in Church Street on Friday afternoon, 16 April," he said.
The members managed to stop the Polo and arrested the two suspects.
"The driver and his passenger were arrested for the possession of a stolen motorvehicle and are due to appear in the Graaff-Reinet Magistrate's Court soon," said Rawlinson.
Graaff-Reinet Station Commander, Colonel André Arends, applauded Warrant Officer André Booysen, as well as Constables Natasha Groener, Jaymore Groener, Lorencia Jacobs and Curstin Marais for their commitment and the determination shown to arrest these suspects.
