GRAAFF-REINET NEWSFLASH - A Port Elizabeth schoolboy, Stephen Lottering (14), who was injured on Saturday after a motorcycle stunt gone wrong, is recovering in hospital from a broken femur.
The accident took place on April 28 in Caledon Street, Graaff-Reinet, and was witnessed by several shocked onlookers.
Stephen and his parents, who were attending the annual Strawdogs motorcycle rally in Graaff-Reinet, were watching the stunts being performed when a biker lost control of his motorcycle while doing a wheelie.
The biker was thrown from the motorcycle where after the bike crashed into the area where the spectators were standing, hitting Stephen full force.
Stephen underwent surgery to his leg on Sunday afternoon, 29 April.
According to information received, the biker concerned sustained numerous injuries, however, none life threatening.
