Update
GARDEN ROUTE NEWS AND VIDEO - The wildfire in The Crags area outside Plettenberg Bay has been contained. Crews of GRDM, Bitou Municipality and MTO Forestry, as well as Working on Fire have successfully contained the wildfire.
Mopping up operations are currently in progress and the southern, eastern and north western flanks are prioritised.
Unfortunately the plantations of MTO Forestry were affected during the evening and into the morning. Crews are busy with mopping up procedures within the plantations as well.
Cooler weather has set in, which will assist in final extinguishing efforts.

Kleinplaas Mossel Bay
GRDM has activated a ground crew to do mop up of a veld fire which occurred earlier today at Kleinplaas, Mossel Bay.
Mossel Bay Municipality Fire and Rescue Services were the first responders to this fire. The fire is contained and only require thorough mopping up.
