EASTERN CAPE ELECTION NEWS - With 20% of the Eastern Cape’s votes counted at 08:00 this morning, the ANC this morning was well ahead with 68.45% of the 20% counted votes in their pocket.
The DA so far took 18.16% of the votes, with the EFF on 6.75%. The UDM 0.79% and the VF Plus on 0.06%.
The IEC said that counting and auditing can take place until Saturday morning. In the Eastern Cape the 21 other political parties so far took 5.79% of the counted votes.
Statistics on where the voters from Graaff-Reinet and surrounding towns cast their votes, are not available yet. There were approximately 9 000 voters registered in the Camdeboo region.
