GRAAFF-REINET BUSINESS NEWS - Once again the Karoo town of Graaff-Reinet welcomes visitors from across South Africa and overseas as Stoep Tasters and Wine Makers to the picturesque little town.
The best little wine fest in the Great Karoo is hosted, organised and run by the Karoo Wine Club with the collaboration of the good people of Graaff-Reinet and the surrounding community.
Chairperson of the KWC and head convener of the event, Rose Wright, wishes all the wine farmers and owners, as well as the loyal Stoep Tasters who travel from far and wide to attend this event, a warm Karoo welcome.
"The community of Graaff-Reinet bids you all a hearty Karoo welcome to our lovely region and town, please enjoy our hospitality and of course the lovely wines."
There is plenty to see, taste and do over this Wine-derful weekend with a full programme of events to complement the wine tasting from some of the finest estates and producers in South Africa and abroad.
A few of the highlights are the wonderful Karoo Farmers' Market, once again being held on the fields of the Union Prep School at the bottom of Caledon Street from 09h00 on Saturday. For the energetic souls who would like to work up an appetite, there is a Park/Wine Run before the market on the scenic mountain drive.
The Master Classes are back, and there will be street food and a party vibe throughout the whole tasting route. For those whose feet get tired, there is the option to hop onto one of the colourful 'KarOober' carts and follow the routes in style.
The full route map and programme of events is printed below.
"This community event benefits the whole region and we look forward to another successful and fun- filled weekend, filled with Karoo hospitality and world class wines," said the socially conscious Rose.
There are limited tickets still available from Graaff-Reinet Tourism in Church Street and Foto Express in Church Square. The organisers would like to stress that all tickets must be bought in advance, and that none will be available at the event.
