GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — Vuyani Safe Haven recently held a very well attended AGM in the side hall of the Graaff-Reinet Town Hall (kindly provided with no cost by the Camdeboo Municipality).
The Vuyani Board for 2016/2017 was accepted at the meeting: Paul Merifield, Harold Steven-Jennings, Elaine Stanley, Ethnè Hufkie, Peter Whitlock, Lena Adams, Catherine Steven-Jennings, Ampie Jordaan and Bernard Zonge.
Linda Bukasa, from the Foundation for Alcohol Related Research (FARR) gave a very informative talk on the devastating effects of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
The audience was filled with hope that FARR would soon be able to implement FARR’s 3-year programme in Graaff-Reinet to address this problem in the local community.
Vuyani's chairperson, Paul Merifield, handed out long service awards to five of Vuyani's dedicated caregivers.
