GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The Wildlife Ranching SA (WRSA) Graaff-Reinet Chamber Staff Training Day, the first event of its kind in the region, took place at Montego Botanics Sports Grounds in Graaff-Reinet on 22 November.
A record number of 215 farmworkers from the region, and even as far as Oudtshoorn, attended.
Experts in the respective fields presented training in five critical aspects of the farming environment. These sessions included a basic skinning course, an informative session about snakes and how to tend to a snake bite, as well as self-defence demonstrations and driving training.
"It was more than I could ever have imagined," said Kat Ott, chairperson of WRSA Graaff-Reinet Chamber. "The day ran flawlessly with no problems. The part I loved the most was watching the staff take part. Their facial expressions in each and every course were priceless."
More than 200 farmworkers attended the event.
