Charl du Toit (64) is 'n man met vele gesigte. Sondae staan hy gewoonlik, onberispelik geklee in sy swart pak by die preekstoel van Nieu-Bethesda se Verenigde Gereformeerde Kerk, jare gelede bekend as die sending kerk van NGK, om geestelike brood te verskaf aan sy ewe uitgevatte gemeentelede. Deur die week is hy dikwels te kry in die ou meule op die rustige dorpie met sy bekende Uilhuis, waar hy met ' n voorskoot, wit van die meel wat hy self maal, brood bak vir 'n paar kliente sover as Graaff-Reinet.
