SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - Luna Paige will hit the road and head for the Garden Route where she will be on tour from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 July.
Since 2003 Paige has released four English albums and one spectacular Afrikaans live CD and DVD. In 2016 she released a new Afrikaans single, Groot is jy, which will be followed by another Afrikaans release, Gee my ritme, in the month of July.
Paige is also producer of, and participant in, popular music theatre productions Die Ander Konsert and Korreltjie Kantel. Both of these productions were seen at Woordfees in Stellenbosch) and the KKNK in Oudtshoorn.
Korreltjie Kantel was one of the three most popular productions at the RSG Arts Festival. Paige is also known for her collaborations with blues artist, Gerald Clark in the popular Lovemore Show, which has been running for six years. Her song Somewhere Beautiful reached number one status on OFM (Freestate); her song Restless Soul, number three on MK's local top five; and her latest single Groot is jy, number three on Liedjie.com's top 10 local songs.
Not only does she perform in music theatres and arts festivals across the country, she has also performed in the Netherlands and at numerous music festivals such as Oppikoppi, Up the Creek, Splashy Fen, the White Mountain Music festival, the Bank Windhoek festival, STRAB and the Big Blues Festival.
Paige introduced her new Afrikaans show, Solosang as part of the release of her new single, Groot is jy in February. She will be doing a selection of songs from this show as well as some favourite songs from her previous English releases. She might even throw in a new song or two.
