NIEU-BETHESDA NEWS — If the big city lights get too much for you, make your way to the little village of Nieu-Bethesda this Easter weekend…
The village itself will host the annual Pump Palooza which celebrates everything to do with pumpkins on Saturday.
Shops, eateries and pumps will produce and sell pumpkin flavoured products, and a new photographic exhibition by Dalene Kruger will be on show.
Recycled vessels at the ‘Making Love out of Nothing At All’ exhibition at ‘die Waenhuis’ are well worth a visit. Autumn is starting to tease the village and trees are starting to display just a tickle of orange and yellow.
On Saturday evening, treat yourself to the music of ‘Bright Lights, Big City’ at ‘die Ramstal’ pub.
Meanwhile, at ‘The Rest’ farm – just 15 minute’s drive beyond the village – a fascinating festival also unfolds on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Bring the family out for a day of fun, stimulating, unusual experiences in this most beautiful setting.
The programme includes cow milking, labyrinth walking, a DJ on Friday evening, learning how to make your own bread in an outdoor oven, dance workshops, yoga workshops, a group nap, a photographic exhibition by Robert Kingwill and so much more!
The Restfest is a celebration of taking things slowly, of celebrating the beautiful Karoo around you, and stimulating your mind, body and soul with something a little different! There will be handcrafted crafts on sale and it promises to be an event you will not forget! The goings on in and around Nieu-Bethesda leave you with no excuse to sit around this Easter Weekend!
