GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Central Rugby is going from strength to strength. The 1st and 2nd Reserve had both a walkover last weekend against Harlequins from Somerset East.
The stadium was packed to capacity when the 1st team took the field.
Central immediately put its stamp on the game with two quick tries by their number 13 Smith "Boer", and the half time score was 19-6 in Central’s favour.
The second half all belonged to Central, with more tries and outstanding kicking by number 10 Jason Vers who contributed 21 points to the total. Mention needs to be made of Voetpad, the team captain, who led the team from the front and had an outstanding game.
Harlequins received a rugby lesson, and went home with the score a massive 66-6 against them.
The team management would like to congratulate the players on an outstanding game, and to thank the many supporters who turned up to cheer the team on.
Central’s next game will be against Waillers in Sometset East on Saturday, 26 May. “We wish our team a safe journey, and believe that they can only build on this excellent performance,” said club president Hento Davids.
