NATIONAL NEWS - The Xerox Golden Lions have decided to use all three their Springbok players in this weekend's Currie Cup semifinal match against the Toyota Free State Cheetahs at Toyota Park in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
Julian Redelinghuys and Malcolm Marx will both start for the Johannesburg side while Faf de Klerk will be on the bench as they try and stop the unbeaten Cheetah side and defend their crown in the process.
Coach Johan Ackermann believes the return of the trio will do wonders for his side in terms of playing playoff rugby, and ensuring they get to the final next week.
“They bring leadership, they bring experience, playoff experience and they have just played rugby at the highest level. In our view those are positives and in the past it was difficult to make these substitutions because they can upset your rhythms but if you look at the positions, Malcolm played for us a week or two ago and he is part of the setup. Julian played for us when he came back from injury and with SA Rugby announcing that it is 23-man squads, there are four props and that is perfect for us.
