GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Kelvin Westraat is the new chairperson of the Graaff Reinet Squash Club. This follows after Danie Jackson stepped down after 19 years in the position.
The Graaff Reinet Squash Club appointed their new committee at the AGM that was held on Wednesday, 1 May.
The rest of the committee for 2019/2020 are Pierre de Lange, Toni Botha, Thinus Burger and Geoff Crewe Brown (additional members), with Le Clue Basson and Danie Jackson to assist as co-opted members.
Members were informed of the fee structure for the forthcoming year, including the Botanic affiliation fee.
Arrangements for social evenings were given, including a 'pitch and play' doubles session on Thursdays from 17:15 till 18:45.
The AGM approved the nomination of Paula Zandberg, Pierre de Lange and Danie Jackson as Honorary Life Members.
Support was also expressed for the initiative of Paula Zandberg to assist Volkskool learners to use the courts on Wednesdays from 14:00 till 16:00 to practice and to hold competitions.
