SPORT NEWS - Murray Lord, a business owner from Schoombee, recently fixed up the greens at Schoombee Bowls and Tennis Club.
He then invited 39 players to a social bowls evening on 13 April, and bowlers arrived in full force.
Social bowls night league was played over six nights by 10 teams consistently," reports Keith King, bowls player from Steynsburg, who played all six nights.
The winning team was Jimmie Vermaak, Collete Vermaak, Matt Philps and Hannetjie Philps.
The club is now preparing for the Winter Classic from 17 to 18 June.
