NIEU-BETHESDA SPORT NEWS — The Annual General meeting of the Nieu-Bethesda Sports Club took place this weekend.

In his speech as outgoing Chairperson, Hendrik Wolfaardt awarded Piet du Plessis and Louw Pienaar with the 'Friends of the Club' award for their contributions to the Club this year.

He also paid tribute to Andoret Wolfaardt who tirelessly ran the club on so many levels during the year.

Andoret thanked Caroline Swarts and Von van Rensburg for their work behind the scenes in the kitchen.

Vice-Chairman Ian North thanked Hendrik and Andoret for their dedication and hard work over the past two years and they were presented with a beautiful rose as a token of gratitude.

The committee for the next two years was elected as follows: Ian North (chairman), Pierre Fourie (vice-chairman), Paula Kingwill (secretary), Abie Nel (treasurer), Kosie Wolfaardt (Men's Tennis Captain), Andoret Wolfaardt (Ladies' Tennis Captain), Althea Jesersky (Bowls Captain) and Willie Olivier (Groundsman).

The members of the club were unanimous in their support of the new committee who will continue to run this unique hub of the Nieu-Bethesda community with flair!
