GRAAFF-REINET BOWLS NEWS - Twenty-four teams competed for the Midlands Pairs titles on the greens of the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club on 8 and 9 June.
Each game delivered games of a high standard, but only four teams could play in the finals.
Tienie Prinsloo and Rassie Erasmus squared up against Johan Matthyse and Gerrie Grobler in the men's final, while Sonja Matthee and Charlene Colyn met Helen Louw and Marieda Scherman in the ladies' final.
In a closely contested game, Matthyse and Grobler from Somerset East edged out their opponents by a single shot to win 22-21.
In the ladies' final, Louw and Scherman built up an early seven-shot lead, which proved too much for their opponents, who went down 22-26 to the Middelburg duo.
The controlling body extends their congratulations to the winners and would like to thank each and every person involved in making the weekend a great success.
Players are reminded to enter teams for the Personal Trust open Day, which will take place on Saturday 29 June.
