GRAAFF-REINET BOWLS NEWS - Last Saturday afternoon, 3 November, 24 bowlers participated in the monthly Spandau Spar Handicap Pairs competition at the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club.
Played in perfect weather conditions, there were keenly contested games, but at the end of the day, the combination of William Whitlock (skip) and Robert Kingwill (lead) defeated their opponents by 11 shots to claim the vouchers up for grabs.
Summer Business League kicks off
On Thursday evening, 1 November, the first of five rounds of the Summer Business League, sponsored by Tops @ Spar, was played on the greens of the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club.
The log leaders at this stage are the PG Glass side on 2 game points and + 17 shots, with Camdeboo Spar second, 6 shots adrift.
There are three teams on 2 + 10, namely Laer Volkskool, Akamie and Huis Eybers. The second round will take place this Thursday evening, 8 November, at 17:30 sharp.
