GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — The Graaff-Reinet Squash Club was once again host to the annual Karoo-lus Doubles Squash Tournament over the past weekend.
Twenty four teams took part in the A and B sections, which meant that every team played 11 matches - two on Friday night, six on Saturday and three on Sunday.
Of the 24 teams that entered, only four were local, with the other teams coming from Port Elizabeth, East London, Cape St Francis, Knysna, Oudtshoorn and Bloemfontein.
The Karoo-lus Doubles Tournament is fast becoming a favourite on the calendar of tournaments for doubles teams.
The winners of the A Section were Ronnie Leo and Emile Jordaan from Port Elizabeth, who were also winners of the A Section in 2014. Runners up were Fouche Swart and Greg Dark from Cape St Francis.
The winners of the B Section were Amanda Smith and Kirsty Donovan from East London and the runners up were Neil Opperman and Mary van Eck from Port Elizabeth.
As always, the tournament would not be possible without the support of the sponsors, which include Montego, SportsWorld in Port Elizabeth, Nommerpas and Kamdeboo Supermeat.
The winners of the A Section were Ronnie Leo and Emile Jordaan from Port Elizabeth. They are seen here with the Graaff-Reinet Squash Club's Paula Zandberg and Danie Jackson.
