NIEU-BETHESDA NEWS — The Nieu-Bethesda Sports Club’s AGM was held recently and it turned out to be a festive evening indeed.
For the past two years, the Club has been exceptionally well run by Piet and Suzette du Plessis – a voluntary act of service that enables this social hub of Nieu-Bethesda to run smoothly.
Much appreciation was shown them as they handed the baton over to Hendrik and Andoret Wolfhaart who will take the reins for the 2017/2018 period.
After the AGM, long time member Ilse Wolfhaart was asked to cut the ribbon for the tennis courts which had been newly resurfaced by Dennis Rosslee.
Dennis and his wife, Jean were honorary guests for the evening. Tennis was played on the beautiful new green surface, chops were braaied, and much ‘geselligheid’ and camaraderie was had around the old Oregon pine tables that have become such a part of these special evenings at ‘The Club’.
