GRAAFF-REINET BOWLS NEWS - Last Saturday afternoon, 12 January, 16 bowlers took to the greens of the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club, to compete in the monthly Spandau Spar Handicap Pairs competition.
At the tea-break, the biggest differential was three shots, with Ivor Wakeford and his partner, Alet Slabbert, leading by a solitary shot 11 - 10.
After tea was a different "kettle of fish" with the Wakeford/Slabbert combination not allowing their opponents to score again.
The final score was 30 - 10.
The first club competition, the Drawn Pairs for Men and Ladies, takes place on 23 and 24 February.
