GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — This past Saturday, August 20, the Graaff-Reinet Golf Club hosted an IPS Stableford Competition.
The day saw Weppie Weideman claiming the first place with a score of 43 points, followed by Godwin Bosch in second place with 40 points and Dan Yeadon in third place on a count-out with 40 points.
In a Holmes Cup match played this past week Johnny Ludick edged out Charl du Plessis.
In another exciting golfing competition held this past weekend at the local golf club the Presidents team beat the Captains team with 456 points against 435 points.
The weekly Wednesday IPS competition sponsored by the Desert Springs Spur was this week won by Weppie Weideman with 39 points while the weekly Sundowner played every Friday was won by Frikkie Coetzee with 19 points.
• This coming Saturday, August 27, the Club hosts a Betterball competition. Those wishing to enter are asked to do so with a partner or beginner. Tee-off will commence at 11.30am.
• The Club would also like to congratulate local golfer Richard Swartz on winning the Eastern Cape Sanlam Cansa Challenge. A great achievement.
